Peggy loved her days at Ravenhill Academy. She earned her Associates Degree at Gwynedd Mercy College (now University). Later, she returned to Gwynedd for a BA in Elementary Education, and then went on to earn her Master’s in Elementary Education at Beaver College (Arcadia). Peggy was a member of Alpha Phi Omega sorority; her long-lasting friendships with her sorority sisters brought her joy throughout her years.
Peggy had a love of teaching. She is remembered by many students for giving them an appreciation and understanding of math and science that they never would have expected. Peggy enjoyed her relationships with her fellow teachers over her long career. From her early days at St. Rose of Lima through St. Matthews, Upper Moreland and her many years in the Springfield (Montgomery County) School District she loved sharing her passion, dedication to students and laughs with them.
Peggy loved sports. She was a diehard Eagles fan. Her favorite sport of all was field hockey. She passed on her enthusiasm for the sport to her daughters, as well as the middle school teams she coached at Springfield.
Services will be private due to COVID-19. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Peggy’s memory to the Center for Excellence in Education at www.cee.org
I’ve known Peggy since I was 5 years old. She was an RHA alumna, her sister was a friend. I have great memories and remember when both her children were born. Peggy you will be missed.
Still remember meeting Peggy in her first week at Ravenhill, of all places in ballet class!!! We laughed then and were still laughing 30 years later doing Saturday lunches at the Whitemarsh Inn with RHA friends. Was glad to see her briefly again just last year. God bless you Peg. Condolences to all of her Family.
