Lloyd Everett Long Jr. “Skip”

With a heavy heart, we share the passing of our Skip on March 2, 2025. Born in Philadelphia to Lloyd Sr. And Lura (McKinney) on October 30, 1948; devoted husband of 52 years to Barbara (Grealish); dedicated father of Lloyd Everett III (Michelle) and Timothy Joseph McKinney (Jennifer); beloved Pop-Pop to Olivia and Gabrielle Long and Timothy and Thomas Long; brother of Katherine (Lit) and Jane (Cohen); Skip is also survived by many beloved in-laws, nephews, nieces, and friends.

An Air Force veteran, Skip served his country after college. His love of travel took him across Europe and much of the U.S., and remained a constant with family throughout his life. An avid golfer, Skip took up the game as a child and played well into his golden years. A fierce businessman, Skip oversaw the family warehousing business and was honored with an Honorary Lifetime Membership to the AWA in 1995. His community service can be recognized in his 10+ years of volunteer work as an Oreland/Wyndmoor Little League coach and board member, as well as his dedication to children’s and veterans’ charities. He left an indelible legacy for us all to remember him by.

A celebration of Skip’s life will be held on March 22, 2025 at his doting grandparent’s Church of the Messiah – 1001 Dekalb Pike, Lower Gwynedd Township, PA 19002. Visitation to start at 10am, with the service to follow at 11am. A luncheon will be held at Skip’s favorite spot Phil’s Tavern after the service. All who knew Skip are welcome to join us in remembering him. In lieu of flowers, donations to Toys for Tots are requested.
