Kay L. Clausen
Clausen, Kay L. (nee Longstreet) (December 24, 2022). Born and raised in Philadelphia, a graduate of Olney High School and the Germantown Dispensary and Hospital School of Nursing class of 1953. Kay worked as an Operating Room nurse for seven years and is where she met her first husband James Morris during his internship. They raised four children Dianne (Factoryville), Jeffery (Media), Nancy (Yardley) and David (Flourtown).
Upon his death Kay returned to nursing as an OR nurse at Chestnut Hill Hospital. During this time she met and married William H. Clausen III retired from nursing and moved to Wyndmoor. Bill’s children Elizabeth (Flourtown) and Peter (Washington) became part of the mix.
Kay loved the Philadelphia Eagles; proud season ticket holder for many years and could fondly tell you stories of games at Shibe Park. She was an active member of the Auxiliary at Chestnut Hill Hospital for many years. She was an expert needle pointer and was never without a needle and canvas by her side.
She is survived by her 11 grandchildren who loved her dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to Kay’s Viewing Friday 1/6, 9:30 to 11 am St Paul’s Episcopal Church Chestnut Hill. Her funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions in Kay’s name may be made to Old Sturbridge Village, 1 Sturbridge Village Rd., Sturbridge, MA 01566
