Kathleen J. Evans
Evans, Kathleen J. 71, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021. Born November 23, 1949, in Slippery Rock PA and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Jacqueline Evans.
Kathie will be missed by her sangha family, the Tibetan Buddhist Community, as well as many others.
Kathie loved bird-watching, framing beautiful bird and plant artwork. She also enjoyed sewing clothes, book covers, knitted blankets, and scarves and shared them all as gifts to her friends. Her creative talents spanned in so many directions it is hard to name them all. Yet all of it was truly inspiring while showing her great love of nature.
Kathie was a very compassionate person who shared her caring ways with all sentient beings. She supported many causes wishing happiness for all, even for the tiniest of creatures. For example, she made copies of a special mantra(prayer) that she shared and asked us to place on our car windshield so if a bug was smashed when driving it had a good rebirth.
Kathie may have been a private person yet had a giant heart of gold which will follow her to her next path.
A Celebration of Life Will be held at a later date.
A private Traditional Buddhist Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Craft Funeral Home 814 Bethlehem Pike, Erdenheim, PA 19038. In lieu of flowers contributions in Kathleen’s name may be made to Drepung Gomang Monastery in Louisville, Kentucky; Sravasti Abbey in Newport, Washington, or Friends Housing Corporation, Philadelphia, PA.
Kathie,
I will miss you more than you know.
You were always there for us — from the birth of the grandkids to Leila going to Egypt.
May you reach the PureLands with ease.
LOVE ALWAYS — Liz Abuschinow
