Irene M. Roy

Roy, Irene M. (nee Matyas) passed away peacefully on January 18 at the age of 93. Daughter of the late Frank and Mary Matyas, sister of Dorothy Lukaszczyk. Beloved wife of the late Robert H. Roy, MD. Loving mother to Dianne Roy Leonards, Robert Howell Roy Jr., Suzanne Roy Note, and Richard Alan Roy. Grandmother of 11 and great grandmother of 8.

Irene grew up in Stockertown, PA and earned her nursing degree from St. Lukes’s Hospital School of Nursing. A long time resident of Gladwyne and Berwyn PA., Irene was an active member at Overbrook Golf Club. Irene also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, needlework, entertaining and indoor gardening.
