I am sending my deepest sympathies to the Kacher family at this incredibly difficult time.

My name is Theresa and I had the incredible honor to work with Biz for 10 years at Blue Bell. When I arrived at the building in 2010, Biz invited me (a third grade teacher) to be her Kindergarten class “buddy” and we kept that partnership for our entire decade together. Every month we’d get our kids together to do a cross-grade level activity. We had so much fun planning and doing these activities with the kids. Biz was so incredibly adept with Kindergarten kids – it was really magical. My students and I always loved our KK buddies. I also got to spend lots of time with Biz talking about family, life and school in the workroom every morning. We were the early birds and it was a pleasure to start each day with Biz. After retirement, we had fun at our Blue Bell retirees lunches. What a joy to have known and worked with such a positive, playful, warm woman. I will carry her cheerful voice with me – “Hey, Buddy!”

  • Biz was first Mattison liaison, helping me learn and acclimate to a new community. We reunited at Blue Bell, where she retired from my 1st classroom. I’ll remember hugging each other in that wonderful classroom with shared Wissahickon memories.
Biz was a dedicated and loved educator, leaving an amazing legacy of a life well-lived.

I came upon this news unexpectedly. We knew Biz in the early part of her career, when she was a child care worker at Hilary House in Chestnut Hill. She was a vital part of a team who helped our young daughter recover from menningitis. My heart is heavy. My deepest condolences to the entire Kacher family. May her memory be a blessing.

  • Andy & family,
I was shocked to find out just yesterday that Biz had passed. I’m not on FB and no one had informed me or I would definitely come to her Celebration of Life. I hadn’t seen her for many years, but I always remember Biz with a smile on her face. She was very sweet and I know she is terribly missed by all her family and friends. Please accept my sincere condolences.
