Eileen B. Schinlever
Eileen B. Schinlever. (July 19, 1923-October 12, 2026). Eileen was predeceased by her late husband, Howard W. Schinlever. She is survived by her two daughters, Eileen C. Togashi and Barbara Condike-Furlong and her two granddaughters, Elena (her husband, Dave, and their two children, Eileen’s great grandsons, Kiyo and Koda), and Erika (her husband, Martin) and many nieces and nephews. If you knew Eileen, you may have known her from one of her many loves – books, birds, traveling, and flowers. She was an avid reader, specifically of all things related to the American Revolution, the Civil War, WWII and everything about and by E.B. White. She read the Philadelphia Inquirer ever morning and enjoyed doing the crossword puzzle with her cuppa. She was devoted to her birds on the patio, ensuring they always had food and doing everything to keep the squirrels away. Eileen was fiercely independent and loved to travel by train – be it into Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station just because or around the country. She also loved to go for drives, always avoiding the main highways and taking any “Blue Route.” She could recite each road she took along the way. Eileen was a woman of poise and class and always looked elegant and put together, wherever she went. You could spot her from far away with her beautiful skirts (sometimes with appliquéd birds and other times wearing a Scottish kilt) along with her blazers, gloves and a hat. In her later years, she was always seen and known for her beautiful cane adorned with flowers that she changed with the season.
Eileen enjoyed another distinct earlier chapter in her life. In the 1960’s and early 70’s she was known by everyone as Pat Campbell when she was married to E. Perry Campbell. Those years were filled with Germantown Academy, The Philadelphia Cricket Club, Union League and Claneil Enterprises.
Eileen was a truly a wonderful and remarkable woman who loved her family and was deeply loved by her family and everyone who knew her. She will be sorely missed. Having spent the last 70 years in the Fort Washington area, she was known by many and will be missed by all.
Eileen passed away peacefully in her home after loving long-term care by her daughter, Eileen Togashi, devoted caregivers and hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to Eileen’s Funeral Service on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 11am at St Thomas Church Whitemarsh, 7020 Camp Hill Rd., Fort Washington, PA 19034. Interment will follow at St Thomas Church Whitemarsh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial donations to Bayada Hospice in Eileen’s honor.
