Donald J Beavers II
Donald J. Beavers II died suddenly at his home in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania on December 6, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife Carol A. (nee Richard), and his children Edward J. Hart, Michael D. Beavers and Jessica M. Beavers. He will also be missed by his brothers David (Brenda) and Robert (Betsy), and his sister Mary Anne (Dennis) Allen, as well as by many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. Donald’s services are private.
Don grew up in Erdenheim, attended Bishop McDevitt High School, Montgomery County Community College and Temple University from which he graduated in 1970 with a BS in Accounting. He started his work career as an accountant at Letterkenny Army Depot in Carlisle, PA, and after a couple of years moved to the Department of the Treasury where he remained until he retired in 2011.
In his youth, Don loved playing football, fishing and vacationing at the Jersey shore. He became and remained a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Eagles. He never lost his joy for fishing and looked forward to the annual fishing trip to Ocean City, New Jersey with his siblings and son Ed.
Don was never happier than when he was surrounded by his extended family for a holiday meal. Fourth of July and Christmas were his holidays which he jealously protected until just a few years ago. He was a great cook and host. He took great joy in the successes of his children, and his nieces and nephews and their growing families.
Don was a very private person who rarely complained. He never wanted to be the center of attention and hated being photographed, but he was always there for his family. He was a loving brother, husband, father and uncle and will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contribution in Don’s name to the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 350 E. Erie Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19134.
