Charles H. Gough
Charles H. Gough, Jr. “Charlie,” 86, of Hatboro, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Born June 4, 1928 in Philadelphia, he was the son of Charles and Florence (Rentschler) Gough. He married Doris McFarland on January 3, 1949. Charlie was a 1946 graduate of Bordentown Military Institute where he served as class president. He enlisted in the Army and served in the 82nd Airborne Signal Corps from 1948 to 1950 and in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1950 to 1955. Shortly after leaving the service, Charlie began work at the Philadelphia Inquirer where he worked for 33 years. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union. Charlie enjoyed life to the fullest, but most of all he loved his family. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will cherish the memories they have of the time they shared with him. He loved the time he spent with friends and family at the shore in New Jersey and on the golf course. He also loved the time he spent with his family in Illinois. An honorary member of the City of Rockford Pipe Band, Charlie will be greatly missed by his family and friends in Rockford, IL. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Doris Gough, children Charles H. III (Rene), Robert W. (Nancy), David and Margaret Gough; his six grandchildren Charles IV, Raymond (Tracey), Jason, Zachary (Lerryn), Cody and Hannah Gough; his great-grandchildren Charles V, Raimon, Connor, Medea, Athena and Colton Gough. Predeceased by daughter, Susan Gough. Relatives and friends are invited to Charlie’s memorial service Tuesday April 21st 11am Lehman Memorial United Methodist Church 300 S. York Rd Hatboro. Interment Private.
