Catherine B. Ruhling
Catherine B. Ruhling of Upper Dublin Township, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023. Catherine was born on September 1, 1951 in Monterey, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Harold M. Mahler and Norma Thompson Mahler. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, William L. Ruhling, Jr., as well as her brother, Allen K. Mahler. Catherine is survived by her brother, Melvin Mahler, and two nieces and a nephew, all in Indiana. Catherine started her career as a registered nurse but as she put it, “burned out” and thereafter began traveling as a researcher for big pharma. From there she transitioned into project management/medical writing, first for big pharma and then as an independent consultant. Catherine enjoyed reading, cooking, crocheting, gardening, bicycling and as she called them her “four legged children”. She was involved in preserving the environment, protecting natural open space, farmland and animals and was an advocate for women’s rights and bicyclists’ rights. In lieu of flowers, Catherine asks that donations be made to the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association at 12 Morris Rd, Ambler, PA 19002, the SPCA or to anyone’s personal favorite charity.
We enjoyed Catherine’s support at Family Promise Montco/ Inter-Faith Housing Alliance. Her friendly visits and thoughtful donations will be missed. Family Promsie Montco staff.
