Carmen N. Marchesano
Carmen Nelida Marchesano passed peacefully on the evening of March 10th, 2019 after suffering a heart attack and two strokes a month prior. Loving mother to Angeline N (Thomas) McGowan and Adam C. Marchesano, and grandmother to Caiden and Reid McGowan. She will also be missed by her beloved siblings, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Carmen, also known to loved ones as Nellie or Carmelita, was born Carmen Nelida Aponte on March 20th, 1945 in Puerto Rico. At the age of 14, Carmen called Philadelphia her new home with her parents and some of her siblings.
Charismatic, funny, and full of life are only a few of the many enduring qualities Carmen was known for. Her immense compassion and endless love to all will be deeply missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing her.
Relatives and friends are invited to Carmen’s mass of Christian Burial Monday 3/18 11am at St Peter the Apostle RC Church – 1019 N. 5th St Philadelphia PA 19123. Where people may call at 10am. Interment Private.
