Betsy Jane Machalette

Betsy Jane Machalette (Souders) passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 9:52 am peacefully surrounded by her loving family.  Preceded in death by Father Russell Sr., Mother Elizabeth, and sister Susan Souders. Beloved wife of Michael Machalette. Loving mother to Susan (Joseph) Holman, Kristina (Aaron) Brooks, Amy Machalette, and Kimberly Machalette. Devoted sister to Carole Berneski and Russell (Wendy) Souders Jr. She will be missed by her 5 grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Grammy”. Loving Aunt to Stacy (Joe) Scutti, Nicole Scutti, Vito Scutti, Russell III (Katrina) Souders, Keil Souders, and Nolan Souders.

Betsy was full of love, which she shared with everyone she met, inspiring others and leading by example.  She devoted her life to helping others, as a Nurse, instructor, and coach. Her joyous spirit inspired many of her students and everyone she encountered. She was very loved and will be terribly missed.

If you would like to pay your respects, all are welcome to attend her Celebration of Life on Friday, 11am to 2pm, May 5, 2023, to be held at Flourtown Country Club, 150 McCloskey Road, Flourtown, PA, 19031.  A reception will be held immediately following the prayer.

In lieu of flowers or gifts contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital may be made in her honor.
