Mary E. Tillotson

Mary Ellen Tillotson (Née Curran) of Oreland passed away 7 Nov 2022 at 81 years of age. Mary was born 20 Jan 1941 in Chestnut Hill to Irish Immigrants Annie McLaughlin of Gortinarin, County Donegal and Hugh Curran of Glencolmcille, County Donegal.

A 1959 graduate of Little Flower High School, Mary met her husband of 58 years, Kenneth, while working at C.A. Rowell’s. Married June 1964 at Our Mother of Consolation, together they raised three daughters and one son in Mt. Airy prior to moving to Oreland.  Predeceased by her parents, Mary is survived by her adoring husband Kenneth Sr, her daughters Kelly (Harlysville, PA), Nancy (Greenbelt, MD), Patti (Nashville, TN), her son Kenneth Jr (Quakertown, PA), and her brother Jim Curran (Philadelphia, PA).  Mary enjoyed gardening, fixing up the house, preparing her mother’s Irish recipes, visiting Ocean City NJ, listening to Elvis Presley, Elton John, and Irish music at concert levels and most of all time spent in the company of her family.  A husband who would marry her all over again and children who could not have asked for a better mother will miss her dearly.

Relatives and friends are invited to Mary’s visitation Wednesday 11/16, 9 to 10am at Our Mother of Consolation 9 E. Chestnut Hill Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19118. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am. Internment at Hillside Cemetery, Ardsley, PA will follow a mass at Our Mother of Consolation Chestnut Hill, PA.
