Fritz, Joanne E. (nee Knox) (November 18, 1930-December 8, 2019.) Formerly of Glenside, PA, and most recently a resident of Normandy Farm Estates, Blue Bell, PA. Beloved wife of the late Robert H. Fritz. Mother to Wesley K. Fritz, the late Bruce A. Fritz, and Kenneth E. Fritz (Maura.)
Joanne was an accomplished church pianist and organist her entire adult life. Her bold playing style was recognized, and well appreciated. She was also an avid crocheter, often seen making blankets for family, friends, and as donations to hospitals for premature-born babies. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family, including 9 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Joanne’s Memorial Service on Saturday, January 11, 2020, 11am at Normandy Farms Estates. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joanne’s name may be made to Meals on Wheels where Joanne was an active volunteer for many years, 1710 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031.
Marvelous memories, from Boy Scouts to Beaver Run. Joanne’s love and friendship touched every member of our family. Let us forever treasure those memories and consider ourselves blessed for having her in our lives.
This was my dear Aunt Joanne. I have so many memories of her kindness and her sense of humor.
She was a church organist and accompanist of considerable talent. When I was a senior in high school she was very supportive of my interest in music, specifically choral conducting. Without it, I might have missed my last two wonderful years of high school choir at Neshaminy, which led to my undergraduate degree at Westminster Choir College and graduate work through SUNY Potsdam, Crane School of Music. This led to 15 wonderful years conducting my own high school program and 7 years as a church choir director.
Thanks, Aunt Joanne, you gave me the push just when I needed it.
Save me a seat in the choir loft.
We miss you Mom! XO
