William E. Weber
William E. Weber, 76, of Hatfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 5, 2025. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Joan (née Schmidt).
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Frank E. and Mary Weber.
William worked his dream job for over 30 years as a train dispatcher for Conrail. He had many hobbies that he was deeply passionate about and was happiest when doing anything involving trains or trolleys. He was a proud member of the Shore Line Electric Trolley Museum in Connecticut and the East Penn Traction Club. William used his artistic talents to paint and detail model trains and design and build intricate layouts for them to run on.
He was also a dedicated member of The North Penn Stamp Club, where he enjoyed collecting postage stamps focusing on trollies. He served the community as life member of the Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company, where he was a firefighter, driver and treasurer for the company.
Above all, William loved his family. He was deeply involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren, attending every activity—from marching band performances and concerts to sporting events—and was always there to support them.
He is survived by his two children, David R. G. Weber (Lisa) and Christine M. Tressler (Greg); five cherished grandchildren, Zachary, Cheyenne, John, Sadie, and Colt; and his brother, Robert D. Weber.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Catharine Wonneburger, and an infant granddaughter, Cassidy Tressler.
Relatives and friends are invited to William’s viewing on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Philadelphia First Church of the Brethren, 8707 W. Cheltenham Ave., Wyndmoor, PA 19038. His funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon, with interment at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in William’s name may be made to The Hatfield Volunteer Fire Company, 75 Market St, Hatfield, PA 19440 or Shore Line Trolley Museum (Branford)

Great memories of Bill & Joan’s CT years and then a couple of fun trips to Hatfield before life intervened. My ex Becky passed a year and 5 days before Bill. My condolences to Joan, David & Christine.
Bill was a great friend and model trolley builder. We were on many trips to meets, conventions and shows, and he was helpful with many projects. He will be missed.
I’m sorry I won’t make the funeral. Hugs to Joan and family. So many fun memories growing up with my cousin in PA and Ocean Gate, NJ. So glad we got to catch up a few years ago with Bill and Bob. Bill’s smile will be missed.
Met Bill years ago as he was running trollies on the traction layout. We became friends. I will miss his email stories.
