Corinne E. Brady
Brady Corinne E. (née Endico), passed away January 3, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Brady. Loving mother to Jason (Cherie) Lewis. Stepmother to Thomas (Sheri) Brady, Kevin Brady, and Erin (Nick) Solimo. Adoring grandmother of Kaitlyn Solimo, Lauren Solimo, Sadie Lewis, Kaya Lewis, Jaylen Lewis, Maeve Brady, and Declan Brady. Survived by her sisters Joanne Carcano, Katherine Doob, and Mary Endico.
Born in New York, New York, Corinne was the daughter of the late Felix and Katherine (Gluck) Endico. Her sisters fondly remember the times they all shared with their cousins growing up in the Bronx. Whether it was putting on plays, making applesauce, hanging out a window to pick cherries off a tree, or sharing meals with grandparents these moments will be remembered with a smile. The family moved to New Rochelle, NY, where Corinne went to Ursuline High school before attending Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. After graduation, Corinne built a successful career in office management and production coordination in the music and film industries, which took her, her first husband, Albert Lewis, and their son Jason to Los Angeles, California.
Corinne found lasting love with Tom and married in 1984, bringing together Thomas, Kevin, Erin, and Jason to create a wonderful family. They set upon an amazing journey that took them from New York to the Jersey Shore (with many trips in between) producing treasured memories throughout their 21-year marriage. After Tom’s passing in 2005, Corinne remained the cornerstone of the family and was a central part of keeping Tom’s memory alive.
Corinne had many passions in her life and spending time with her grandchildren was at the top of the list. College visits, sleepovers, watching sports, and attending school events filled her calendar, resulting in cherished memories to last a lifetime. Corinne’s grandkids were always excited about a visit from Nana as she was sure to bring personalized sugar cookies for the occasion. Each grandchild will hold special memories of chats with their much loved Nana, which often included many entertaining Nana stories.
Upon retirement, Corinne immersed herself in several philanthropic endeavors. Corinne founded and led a public library volunteer program in Pelham Manor, NY, overseeing more than 50 volunteers who provided preschool story times and arts and crafts programs. After moving to Philadelphia, Corinne became involved in the library program at the John B. Kelly Elementary School in 2018, as she was deeply concerned about educational inequity. Corinne took over as Program Director in its early days, expanding the loosely structured program into a well-organized, larger group. It is now an exemplar of volunteer-run school library programs. Corinne was instrumental in securing outside funding to computerize the library. Under her direction, the library program became an integral part of the school, expanding from library visits and story time to include one-on-one reading and math tutoring, author visits, and free book giveaways at the school and the surrounding community.
Corinne was also a founding member of the Philadelphia Alliance to Restore School Librarians (PARSL), established in 2022 to advocate for the return of certified school librarians to all buildings in the School District of Philadelphia. Corinne was a vital part of PARSL’s seven-person, all-volunteer Core Planning Team. Corinne viewed her efforts with PARSL as a natural extension of her management of the John B. Kelly School Library Volunteers. She focused on building and sustaining PARSL’s community allies, work which came naturally to her as she fostered long-lasting relationships wherever she went.
Corinne joined the Germantown Avenue Crisis Ministry Team in 2021. She served on the board of directors and enthusiastically provided help wherever it was needed. Her passion centered on the Food Cupboard. She partnered with members of Abington Meeting to expand food collections and actively recruited volunteers to help with Thursday food distribution. Over the years, she personally brought nine dedicated volunteers into this work, many of whom continue to serve. Corinne helped create what is now known as the Community Table, which is stocked weekly with essentials such as toilet tissue, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.
Alongside her many accomplishments, Corinne spent over 40 years offering love and support to women seeking guidance navigating challenges she herself had overcome. It was never too early in the morning or too late at night for Corinne to answer the phone when she knew a fellow traveler was calling for the kind of mentoring she was uniquely qualified to provide. Corinne gave of her time with humility and no expectation of anything in return. There are countless women who owe their very lives to her tireless championing of all that a woman can become when given the right kind of encouragement. Along with her many other special qualities, it is for her wisdom and generosity of spirit that so many will miss Corinne beyond measure.
Relatives and friends are invited to Corinne’s memorial service Saturday 1/10, 2pm at the Abington Friends Meeting, 520 Meetinghouse Rd., Jenkintown, PA 19046. My sister, my best friend, Corinne taught by example.
The world is a little less bright now.
I had the honor of working closely with Ms. Brady at John B. Kelly, planning trips to the theater, spearheading our annual holiday toy drive, and connecting with agencies. Ms. Brady was fun, spunky, kind, hilarious, and sassy as all get out. We were never without laughter with Ms. Brady around. I wish I had that one last meetup with her. She will be dearly missed.
Corinne was a Core Team member of PARSL (the Philadelphia Alliance to Restore School Librarians) and a fierce believer in providing children with books, libraries, and trained librarians. Her work with PARSL impacted so many in her community and in the city schools. She will be greatly missed.
A bright light came into my life path when I joined with Corinne volunteering via my ENON church family as part of the Kelly virtual reading program. Her compassion for the educational learning for children; wanting to see none left behind & her fun loving, detail oriented demeanor, made it a JOY to come alongside & work with her~
Corinne now takes her rest, but not without having given of herself to her family, to her community, to her friends and to this world~
Rest in Eternal Peace Corinne as you are already missed????????
She was a wonderful neighbor and will be much missed at Hill House.
Corrine was the rock (and roll) of the Kelly School Volunteer library program and helped obtain a grant in partnership with Kelly’s Principle Ms. Dickerson, and Dennis Barneby who organized the Kelly Green project, creating a produce gardnen in the back of Kelly as a learning project for the children.
She was also a powerful Social Justice advocate which was a strong connection between us. She will be so sorely missed. Fly away Corinne!
Honoring a woman who will forever hold a special place in my heart. Mrs. Brady was someone God placed in my life as a gift. She loved me like a granddaughter, in the way that only comes from a heart that is patient, gentle, and deeply giving. She saw me, believed in me, and cared for me in moments when I didn’t even know how much I needed it.
She loved my students as if they were her own, carrying them with her in thought and prayer. Even when her own heart was heavy and her worries were many, she never stopped thinking of others—especially me and my children. Her love was quiet, selfless, and constant. Mrs. Brady’s devotion to our school and to every child within it was unmatched, and her love will live on in me always.
My dear Corinne, who I met in 1988, will be forever missed! Your love, wisdom and humor you shared with me will live on to the people I help like you helped me- and then they help others. You built a community of inspiration! I remember you with a smile in my heart and strength in my spirit that were fed and nourished by you at my most challenging times. I will be forever grateful to you my dear friend who will live on in this spirit of service that you inspire in others I thank You and I will always have you in my heart. I will love you forever. ❤️ I thank you my dear !????
