Richard W. Reimet
Richard W. Reimet, 80, of Warrington, entered into Jesus’ arms on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Dick was the devoted husband of Elaine (Reinsel) for 58 years. He was the loving father of Susan R. Buckman (Brian) of Doylestown PA, Mark R. Reimet (Kathleen) of Ocean City, NJ and Sharon R. Schaefer (Mark), of Lancaster, PA. Dick was a proud ”PopPop” and was actively involved in the lives of his grandchildren: Timothy Buckman (Sheila), Thomas Buckman, Nicholas Schaefer, Patrick Buckman, Zachary Schaefer, Jacob Schaefer, Todd Reimet, Matthew Buckman and Summerlee Reimet. He was predeceased by the brother he admired, the Rev. Walter O. Reimet (Virginia). Dick was a proud graduate of Central High School class of the 204 and Muhlenberg College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Dick was devoted to his family and church life. He served as the Treasurer for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod, ELCA for 30 plus years. Dick was an active member of Christ’s Lutheran Church, Oreland, PA and Lamb of God Lutheran Episcopal Church in Fort Myers, Fl. Dick was a lifelong Phillies Fan and led “Lutheran Night” at the Phillies for 40 plus years, which benefited Lutheran Charities Appeal. He worked as a General Agent for Lutheran Brotherhood for 40 years. Dick was a longtime member of Old York Road Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Dick enjoyed spending winters with Elaine in Fort Myers, Florida. His great sense of humor and positive outlook were enjoyed by all. Dick lived each day, “slightly better than terrific!” A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, October 1st at Christ’s Lutheran Church, Oreland, PA. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the Celebration of His Life will begin at 10:00 a.m. Memorial gifts may be sent to Christ’s Lutheran Church, 700 Pennsylvania Ave., Oreland, PA 19075.
I cannot believe it’s been 5 years already! Dick is still alive in our hearts and the twinkle in his eye still sparkles with love for all of us. Carl, Melody and I still miss him dearly, as do many members of Christ’s Lutheran.
