I knew Jack since 9th grade at Plymouth Whitemarsh High school. We lived relatively close to each other and I would often ride my horse to his house after school. We went our separate ways and re-connected again after our 50th high school reunion. At that time we all had such a great time reminiscing that he and I decided we would try and invite other classmates who were close geographically to attend a monthly luncheon. He and I started calling people and that’s how our “lunch bunch” began. Being the man he was, he was instrumental in each of the decisions that we made. Even when he got sick, we would talk at least once a week because he always wanted to know what was going on around the country with our classmates. What a wonderful sense of humor. What great dedication to Jane. He will really be missed.

  • Jack and I lived close to each other and spent lots of time together during high school. I stayed over night at his house and he and mine many times. Jack wanted to work on the farm where I lived during hay baling time, but his allergies prevented that. I enjoyed fishing with Jack and his Dad many times. Jack was my “best friend”, and, although we talked and visited infrequently during the last few years, I enjoyed talking with him, and will miss him. I talked with him a few weeks ago, and was shocked and saddened to hear of his early death. I will attend the memorial service on April 1st.

I was in Jack’s class at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. He was tall, blonde, a very good basketball player and nice to everyone. Not being part of the “in” crowd, I was always impressed when Jack would say, “Are you coming to game?” or “Could you help with this project?” He was nice to everyone and I am certain he excelled as a teacher and a husband and a father. So grateful that he helped keep us all in touch long, long after graduation. May he now rest in peace.
