Grace J. Lavin
PHILIPPIANS 1:21
“For to me, to live is Christ, to die is gain.”
Grace Josephine Lavin (nee Rossi), 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Grace was born on March 15, 1931, to Joseph and Rose Rossi in Philadelphia, PA. Beloved mother to Michael (Elizabeth Ann) Lavin, Martin (Joyce) Lavin, and Donna (Michael) Spahits. She will also be dearly missed by her 8 grandchildren Julie Stevenson (Evan), Christy Lavin, Lindsay Sanders (Kevin), Lauren and Caitlin Lavin, Michael, Luke and Amanda Spahits, and her 2 great grandchildren, Chloe and Ryan Stevenson.
Grace loved her children and she loved her pets, but most of all she loved the Lord.
She was born in Philadelphia and attended Germantown High School. She was a homemaker and when her children were grown worked as an administrative assistant at an engineering firm in Philadelphia. Grace had a beautiful voice. As a young woman, she sang on Sundays for a local Philadelphia radio program on WDAS in Parkside. Grace was an artistic person, who was creative, inventive, perceptive and sensitive. Grace had a love for ballroom dancing and performed at various dance competitions. She took home quite a few trophies.
Our hearts take comfort to know that Grace will no longer have the cares and worries of this world. She has been released from her body of illness and she has been ushered by the angels into the presence of Jesus. For when she was on this earth she saw through a glass darkly… but now she sees face-to-face her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Relatives and friends are invited to Grace’s visitation Tuesday, 5/9, 11am to 12:30pm at Craft Funeral Home of Erdenheim, 814 Bethlehem Pike. Her memorial service will follow at 12:30pm. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, in Grace’s name, may be made toward the furtherance of the Gospel through the ministry of Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia.

Pat and I will continue to pray for Grace and the Lavin family.
Grace was very active during her lifetime and participated in a lot of events that gave her great joy and sense of accomplishment. I’m sure she had no regrets.
You were blessed to have her for some long..
She is now at peace.
