Grace F. Macklin
Macklin, Grace F. (nee Flavell) of Foulkeways at Gwynedd, passed away peacefully June 24 into the arms of the Lord. She was 100 years old. Grace was the beloved wife of the late Frank F. Macklin for 64 years. She was the loving and proud mother to Ann M. (James) Perkis, Patricia M. (Wilson) Marvel, Virginia M. (John) Allenson, Marian M. (Daniel) McGlinchey. She was loved and will also be missed by her 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Grace was the daughter of the late George Kenneth Flavell and Grace Taussig Flavell. She graduated from The Stevens School and The College of William and Mary. She was a varsity field hockey player at both and also played on the All-Virginia State team while at William and Mary.
Grace was predeceased by her brother George Kenneth Flavell, Jr. and her sister Marian Flavell Perry.
Grace’s first love was her family yet she had numerous other interests and hobbies including reading, sewing, puzzles (both crossword and jigsaw), and gardening. While at Foulkeways, her garden was chosen several times to be on their garden tour.
At this time, Grace’s family would like to thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Due to current circumstances, graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Grace’s name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Springfield, 1710 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031 or the Staff Appreciation Fund at Foulkeways, 1120 Meetinghouse Rd, Gwynedd, PA 19436.
