June D. Monaghan

Monaghan, June D., age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

 

June was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on January 28,1934 to Jean and James Metzger.  She was the oldest of 3 girls.  When June was only 12, her mother became ill and unable to care for herself, as well as June and her sisters.  June embraced the responsibility and helped care for her mother and raise her 2 younger sisters.

 

She went on to attend St. Joseph’s University to pursue a degree in accounting.  She married the late Robert J. Monaghan and together they raised their loving daughters, Denise Day and Linda Duffy.  She is also survived by her beloved son-in-law, Greg Day, and by her dear grandchildren, Brian, Chris, Faith and Danny.

 

In addition to her family, she had many close relatives and friends, some dating back to her childhood. Following Robert’s sudden passing, June opted to move to Springhouse Estates, where she made more new friends than she could count. She went on to thrive there for the next 10 years.

 

She will be greatly missed but her memory will live on.
