Dr. Spurgeon S. Johns Jr.

Johns, Dr. Spurgeon S. Jr., (December 20, 2020). Beloved husband of Barbara E. (nee Easton) for 66 years. Loving father to Mary J. (Paul) Botto, Spurgeon S. “Scooter” Johns III (Ashley Keegan), and James A. (My Hanh) Johns. He will also be missed by his 3 grandchildren, and his brother Thomas Spurgeon.

Spurgeon was born in 1931 in Johnstown, PA. After earning his undergraduate degree at Bucknell University in 1953, he spent the next 2 years in the service during the Korean War. He later went on to earn his Doctorate of Medicine at Hahnehmann University in 1960. He worked as a physician of internal medicine at Germantown Hospital for 35 years.

Spurgeon was also a Member of the Pastorius Club of Germantown and AMA (American Medical Association). He enjoyed traveling, especially to South Africa.
